MICHIGAN * * * * * * * IMPORTANT NOTICE JUDGE HAMILTON ESTABLISHES FEBRUARY 14, 2005 On April 15, 2004, upon joint motion of Class Counsel and counsel for AT&T, Judge David F. Hamilton entered an order approving the Certain Michigan "Telecommunication Cable"/Railroad Corridor Class Settlement Court Notice which establishes February 14, 2005 as the deadline for the filing claims for Current Landowner Benefits and Prior Landowner Benefits. Claim Forms must be postmarked by February 14, 2005, in order to be deemed to be within this deadline. CERTAIN MICHIGAN On April 15, 2004, in Sparks Cedarlee Farm v. AT&T Corp. (No. IP02-C-7002-H/K), United States District Judge David F. Hamilton (the "Court") conditionally approved a Michigan "telecommunication cable"/railroad corridor settlement class, consisting, generally speaking, of the current (and certain past) owners of land underlying or adjacent to twenty-one (21) railroad corridors in Michigan. The corridors are used to provide railway service along: Flint to Birmingham (CSXT), Flint to Birmingham (Grand Trunk & Western), Detroit to Plymouth, Lansing to Grand Rapids, Saginaw to Holly, Saginaw to Grayling (Central Michigan), Saginaw to Grayling (Detroit-Mackinac), Saginaw to Grayling (MDOT), Kalamazoo to South Bend (Conrail), Kalamazoo to South Bend (Grand Trunk & Western), Flint to Lansing (Conrail), Flint to Lansing (Grand Trunk & Western), Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo, Detroit to Toledo, Detroit to Plymouth, Saginaw to Flint, Detroit to Birmingham, Detroit to Toledo Diversity, Detroit to Windsor, Traverse City to Green Bay (MDOT) and Traverse City to Green Bay (CSXT). The Court has preliminarily approved the settlement as fair, adequate, and reasonable for the Settlement Class, but the Court will conduct a hearing to make a final determination whether the Settlement is fair, adequate, and reasonable and should be finally approved. This home page provides some basic settlement information and copies of important documents for persons who know they are, or think they might be, members of this Settlement Class. The settlement terms and the options a potential class member and claimant has are explained in the Court Notice.
